TALLINN, Estonia—South Dakota junior
Marleen Mülla captured the women's pole vault at the Estonian Championships over the weekend.
Mülla was victorious with a clearance of 14-3 ¾ (4.35m), more than six inches better than the runner-up in the competition. Mülla is a five-time Estonian national champion.
Hailing from Rakvere, Estonia, Mülla has garnered All-America honors in all five seasons of collegiate competition at USD. She redshirted this past outdoor season. Mülla owns a personal best of 14-11 (4.55m), which set the top mark in the NCAA for the 2023 indoor season.
Meanwhile, freshman
Eliza Aitken placed seventh at the Canadian Championships held in Montreal, Quebec. She cleared a best height of 13-0 ¾ (3.98m). Aitken earned all-Summit League honors outdoors with a third-place finish. She improved her personal best to 13-3 ½ (4.05m), clearing the height at the USD Challenge in April.
The Olympics qualifying standard for the women's pole vault is 15-6 ¼ (4.73m).
