WOLLONGONG, Australia – South Dakota triathlete
Chelsea Webber had the opportunity to represent her country abroad Thursday, competing in the Under 23 World Championships as a member of Team USA.

Webber placed 35
th with a time of 2:07.55 on the Olympic-distance format. Her splits include a 19:06 1,500-meter swim, a 1:04.57 40-kilometer bike, and a 42:26 10-kilometer run.

Webber, who has already logged a pair of top 10 finishes in collegiate races this fall, also logged a top 10 finish over the summer at the U23 Americas Triathlon Championships in Columbia. She was the top finisher from the United States in the field, and was the third place USA competitor at the World Championships Thursday.

Webber now will return to Vermillion to continue her senior season for USD Triathlon. The Yotes are back in competition at the West Regional Championship in Fort Worth, Texas on Oct. 26.
