VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota men's basketball head coach
Eric Peterson has announced the signing of transfer Josiah Dotzler to the Coyotes 2025-26 recruiting class.
Dotzler, a native of Omaha, Nebraska, played his prep basketball at Bellevue West. Dotzler transfers in from St. Louis where he appeared in three games for the Billikens before suffering a season ending injury. He spent his freshman season at Creighton. Dotzler appeared in 19 games for the Bluejays, who advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen, during the 2023-24 season as a true freshman.
Dotzler led Bellevue West to a 29-0 record and a state title in his senior season and was named Nebraska's Gatorade Player of the Year. He averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game and was the top-ranked prospect out of Nebraska as a senior. He was a two-time First Team All-State selection by the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal State as a junior and senior.
Dotzler is the first transfer signed by the Coyotes and joins incoming freshman Vince Buzelis, Uzziah Buntyn and Jesse McIntosh to the 2025-26 recruiting class.
