Webber places fourth, Yotes take fourth as a team at Southern Hills

HOT SPRINGS, S.D. – The South Dakota triathlon team started their 2025 campaign early Saturday morning, competing in the Southern Hills Collegiate Cup Saturday morning in Hot Springs, S.D.
 
Chelsea Webber paced the Yotes, placing fourth overall in a time of 31:25 in the super sprint. Webber was the top finisher from a school not named Arizona or Arizona State, who were tied for first in the CTCA preseason poll. The Coyotes had a second top 10 finisher as Alexa Magallon took 10th overall. Her time was 31:49.

The Coyotes took fourth as a team in a strong field in the Black Hills. The Yotes totaled 194 points, placing behind Arizona, TCU, and Arizona State in the team standings. USD finished ahead of two teams ranked higher than them in the preseason poll, besting Denver (169 points) and San Francisco (102).
