DES MOINES, Iowa — South Dakota track and field started its weekend at the Drake Relays with student-athletes running in the Distance Carnival at the Blue Oval Thursday.
TOP PERFORMERS
• Action was moved up roughly two hours due to anticipated severe weather in the Des Moines area Thursday night.

Andrew Atwood was the top Coyote finisher of the day, placing third in the 800-meters in 1:52.72.
Tommy Hensley was ninth in the event at 1:53.78.

Natnael Kifle added a top five with a fifth place result in the 5000-meters in 14:51.00.
