PREVIEW: South Dakota set to host South Dakota Challenge this weekend

The South Dakota track and field program is back at the Lillibridge Track Complex this weekend for the South Dakota Challenge.

NATIONAL RANKINGS
The USFTCCCA weekly event squad rankings for the fifth checkpoint of the season has South Dakota with four men's event groups and two women's event groups in the top 50.
 
The men's pole vault squad is 2nd in the NCAA. Two throws groups are in the top 50 with the men's shot put squad is 16th in Division I and the discus is 23rd. The men's 110-meter hurdles group ranks 21st. The Coyote women's pole vault group is 4th in the NCAA and the 400-meter hurdles is 28th.

NCAA WEST LEADERS
The NCAA Outdoor Championships will be held in Eugene, Oregon, but to qualify, the Coyotes need to advance through the NCAA West First and Second Rounds that will be hosted in Fayetteville, Ark. at the end of May.
