WARRENSBURG, MO. - Senior Bryan Hohenthaner of the South Dakota baseball team earned ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association) Second-Team All-Central Region honors Monday.
Hohenthaner, a native of Sioux Falls, S.D., hit at a .462 clip in North Central Conference play this season, leading the league in that category. In 26 NCC games, he led the conference in hits (36), doubles (11), slugging percentage (.795) and ranked third in on-base percentage (.517).
Overall, Hohenthaner ranked third in the NCC with a .385 batting average. Hohenthaner, who was USD's starting centerfielder, had a team-high seven home runs, drove in 37 runs and was a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen bases.
The team was voted on by the Central Region head coaches.
South Dakota finished the season with a 24-26 record and a 11-17 mark in the NCC.
