Chute Named to Academic All-NCC Baseball Squad

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Junior Robin Chute of the South Dakota baseball team was named to the Academic All-NCC Baseball Team Tuesday, according to an announcement by the league office.

Chute, who sports a 3.338 GPA in business administration, ranked eighth in the NCC with a batting average of .372 this season. The Chelsea, Iowa, native also ranked second in the league in runs scored (51), second in hits (67) and fourth in stolen bases (11).

One of just 10 players named to the Academic All-NCC squad, Chute started all 50 games this season for the Coyotes as a middle infielder. For the season, he had 30 RBI, 13 doubles and six home runs.

Junior catcher John Quade was an honorable mention Academic All-NCC selection with a 3.38 GPA in management. Quade, a native of Sioux City, Iowa, hit .314 with three homers and 21 RBI this season.

South Dakota finished the season with a 24-26 record and an 11-17 mark in the NCC.
