VERMILLION, S.D. -- The South Dakota tennis squad (1-9) dropped a 6-3 decision to Dordt College (4-2) in the Coyotes' home opener on Saturday at the USD Tennis Courts.
Maya Ristic of Vermillion, S.D., and Rachel Kludt of Huron, S.D., accounted for all of the USD victories. Ristic and Kludt teamed up at No. 1 doubles for a 9-8 (7-5 tiebreaker) win while Ristic won at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-1) and Kludt won at No. 2 singles (2-6, 6-4, 6-3). USD, playing shorthanded, moved up each squad member up a position except for Ristic at No. 1 singles.

Next for the Coyotes will be a match with Southwest Minnesota State at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Marshall, Minn. The Coyotes returns home to host Morningside at 3 p.m. on April 7 at the USD Tennis Courts.
