Yamini Reddy has been named the Summit League Co-Player of the Week in women's tennis, the league announced on Tuesday. It is the first time a South Dakota women's tennis player has received the weekly honor from the conference, and it is the first honor of Reddy's career.
Reddy (Bangalore, Ind.) has an outstanding week for the Coyotes during their action at Drake last weekend. Reddy, who is a team-best 12-4 on the year, recorded two wins in three matches, including a 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 win over Drake's Amanda Aragon - who is ranked No. 17 in the Central Region. Reddy also added a hard-fought 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's Amanda Miller. Reddy's lone loss came in three sets against her opponent from Northern Illinois.
The Coyotes resume action Saturday in St. Peter, Minn., against Minnesota State, Mankato.
