WALNUT, Calif.—South Dakota senior
Mubarik Musa raced to a new personal best 29 minutes, 42.32 seconds in the 10,000 meters Thursday at the Mt. SAC Relays at Falcon Stadium.
Musa improved his best time by nearly 30 seconds to take 31st in the elite race. He was the 24th collegiate to finish. Musa's time moves him to second all-time on USD charts behind
Matt Hoyt.
Senior
Kelsey Barrett clocked 35:51.32 through 10,000 meters in the elite division. Barrett took 22nd overall and was the 15th collegiate across the line in the section. The time marks the third-fastest she's run in her USD career.
Sophomore
Bailey Oettel finished 11th in the 10,000 meters Open "B" section with a personal best time of 36:17.08.
Racing her first collegiate 10,000 meters, freshman
Megan Billington took 14th in the Open "B" Section. Billington crossed the finish line in 36:30.32, the seventh-fastest time on USD's all-time charts.
Senior
Isaac Allen finished 28th overall in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Allen clocked 9:22.29 for 16th in his heat.
The Coyotes continue competition tomorrow at the Mt. SAC Relays and the Long Beach Invitational.
