2016 Mt. SAC Relays Results
WALNUT, Calif.—South Dakota senior
Katie Wetzstein improved her 1,500-meter school record once again at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday at Falcon Stadium.
Wetzstein crossed the finish line in 4 minutes, 20.89 seconds through 1,500 meters. Wetzstein took 15th in the elite invitational race and was the eighth collegiate across the line. She posted a 4:21.05 earlier this season at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. Wetzstein's latest mark ranks 28th nationally.
Sophomore
Shanice Cannigan took 17th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:02.19 and 22nd in the 100 hurdles in 14.48 seconds.
South Dakota's relays each placed in the top 10 of the open division. The Coyote men's 4x100 took third in 40.62 seconds, while the women's 4x100 were seventh in 46.47. The men's 4x400 was sixth in 3:17.29 and the women's 4x400 was eighth in 3:51.28.
Junior
Emily Brigham placed third in the open "A" section of the pole vault with a height of 13-3 ½.
Junior
Ashley Thompson took eighth in the open triple jump with a leap of 40-2 ¾.
In the men's pole vault, senior
Peter Chapman and sophomore
Jake David both cleared 16-0 ¾ for ninth and 10th place in the open "A" section.
Junior
Mach Dojiok finished 30th in the 800 meters after clocking 1:53.10.
In the 100 meters, senior
Analisa Huschle was 40th in 11.87 seconds and sophomore
Gawain Williams was 43rd in 10.67 seconds.
Sophomore
Brooke Ireland raced to a season best 56.99 seconds for 42nd in the 400 meters.
Senior
Isaac Allen took 45th with a time of 3:59.64 for 1,500 meters.
Long Beach Invitational
LONG BEACH, Calif.—South Dakota sophomore
Erin Wetzstein placed sixth in the 10,000 meters at the Long Beach Invitational Friday morning at Jack Rose Track.
Wetzstein crossed the finish line after 37 minutes, 57.31 seconds, for a new career best.
The Coyotes continue competition tomorrow at the Mt. SAC Relays and the Long Beach Invitational.
