2016 USD Twilight Meet Results
VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota senior
Peter Chapman headlined the Coyote performances at the USD Twilight at the newly opened Lillibridge Track Complex. The Coyotes captured 19 event titles at the meet.
Chapman cleared a new personal best of 17 feet, 1 ½ inches, in the pole vault to win the event. The mark ranks 28th in the nation this season and tops the Summit League charts. Chapman would miss all three attempts at 17-5, a bar that would have moved him into 16th nationally.
With a delayed start to the women's pole vault, junior
Emily Brigham went on to clear a season-best 13-5 as the sun set on the track. Brigham's mark moves her to 43rd in the nation.
The meet opened with the women's 4x100 taking to the track by themselves. Freshman

Ravan Kott clocked 51.41 seconds in the track's first race.
Sophomore
Lindsay Joyce and redshirt
Amber Eichkorn finished 1-2 in the women's 1,500 meters. Eichkorn paced the field through the first two laps before Joyce took over. Joyce raced to a 10-second personal best of 4:33.52, which is the seventh-best time in USD history. Eichkorn crossed the line in 4:40.95.
Reigning Summit League Athlete of the Week senior
Teivaskie Lewin captured the 200 meters in 21.65. The time moves him to fourth in the Summit League. Lewin tops the Summit charts in the 110 hurdles and the 4x100 relay.
Junior
Ashley Thompson captured the triple jump with a mark of 40-4 ¼. Sophomore
Colette Christensen was third in 36-5 ¾.
Senior
Analisa Huschle leaped 19-4 ¼ to win the long jump. The mark was a half-inch shy of her season best. Thompson finished runner-up with a jump of 18-5.
Senior
Kyle McKelvey threw the shot put 57-6 ¼ for the event title. Junior
Danielle Waldner was the top collegiate and second overall on the women's side with a throw of 50-6 ¼.
Freshman
Alanisse Williams posted a pair of hurdle wins. Williams captured the 100 hurdles in 15.08 seconds and the 400 hurdles in 1:04.40. Classmate
Haley Bruggeman finished runner-up in both the 100 hurdles in 15.89 seconds and 400 hurdles in 1:04.98.
Seniors
Jeff O'Connell and
Connor Fitzsimmons tied for first in the long jump with a leap of 22-0 ¾. Fitzsimmons was also second in the triple jump in 45-0 ¼.
With a photo finish in the 400 meters, Brenner and freshman
Mallory Fine were separated by less than a tenth of a second. Brenner won in 1:00.00 while Fine placed second in 1:00.04.
Freshman
Karina Dufoe sprinted across the line in 25.05 seconds to win the 200 meters. Brenner was runner-up in 26.58.
Freshman
Brennan Schmidt won the 100 meters after crossing the line in 11.23 seconds.
The Coyotes swept the podium in the women's javelin, led by senior
Meghan Dennis's throw of 144-2 to win it.
Senior
Tyler Frank cleared 6-6 to win the high jump.
In addition to anchoring the 4x100 relay, Kott won the open 100 meters in 12.42 seconds.
Sophomore
Tomas Kamenik cruised past the competition to win the 400 hurdles in 56.44 seconds.
Senior
Isaac Allen ran a season-best 9:19.84 in the steeplechase. Junior
Lottie Grimshaw competed in her first collegiate steeple, winning the event with a 12:34.71 clocking.
A pair of Coyotes placed second in the hammer throw and discus on the men's and women's side. Sophomore
Ethan Fenchel sent the hammer 188-7 and the discus 173-6, while senior
Riley Johnson launched the hammer 168-5 and the discus 145-9.
The women's distance 4x400-meter relay wrapped up the running events with a win. Joyce, freshman

Liz Bohn teamed up to run 4:13.65.
A trio of Coyote alumni and USD record holders,
Megan Glisar, Mark Liebl and
Cody Snyder, won their respective events at the meet. Glisar cleared 5-8 in the high jump. Her career best of 6-0 ¾ was set in 2015. Liebl threw the javelin 168-6. He set the program record of 221-0 in 2006. Snyder took the discus in 185-11 Tuesday. His career best 194-6 was thrown in 2015.
As the first official meet at the Lillibridge Track Complex, the winners of each of today's events set a new track record.
South Dakota travels to Lawrence, Kan., for the Kansas Relays Thursday through Saturday.
