Medvyedyeva to join Coyotes in 2022-23

VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota women's tennis coach Brett Barnett is pleased to announce that Anna Medvyedyeva will be joining the Coyotes roster for the 2022-23 school year.

Medvyedyeva, who hails from Lviv, Ukraine, will enroll at South Dakota in the fall as a freshman and plans to study business administration.

"I am very happy to announce Anna's signing with our program at USD," coach Brett Barnett said. "She was great to get to know during the recruiting process.

"She's been working very hard on her game over the last year and its really shown with her Ukranian results."

Medvyedyeva has enjoyed a solid junior career and owns Ukrainian tournament wins in multiple events. She has won singles titles at the Olimp Cup and the Rusanivka Cup as well as doubles titles at the Lviv Open while placing third in doubles at the national championship.

"Making the quarters in both singles and doubles in the national championships is a great accomplishment for her," said Barnett. "She's a very athletic player, hits an extremely clean ball with easy power. We're gaining a player that is comfortable playing in all parts of the court and is ready to arrive on campus and make the most of this great opportunity.

"I'm excited to start working with her in August and continue to help her improve."
