Tyson Invitational
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.—South Dakota fourth-year junior
Sara Reifenrath glided her way to a new school record in the 400 meters Friday evening at the Tyson Invitational held at Randal Tyson Track Center.
Reifenrath crossed the finish line in a personal best in a personal best 52.95 seconds to break her own USD indoor 400-meter record from 2021. She finished seventh in the field and ranks 28th in the nation with the time. Classmate
Jacy Pulse also recorded a personal best in the 400 meters, finishing 11th in 53.58 seconds. Pulse's time was three-hundredths of a second off Reifenrath's former school record.
Sophomore
Bennett Schwenn leaped a massive personal record in the long jump, posting a mark of 24-8 ¼ (7.52m) for third place in the competition. Schwenn's mark ranks second USD history, just two inches shy of the school record set in 1978.
One week after his indoor best mark, fifth-year senior
Marshall Faurot tied for sixth in the elite section of the men's pole vault. He cleared 17-5 ½ (5.32m) in the competition. Fourth-year junior
Eerik Haamer finished runner-up in the regular men's pole vault field by clearing a season-best height of 17-9 ¼ (5.42m). Junior
Spencer Buley added a personal best of 16-11 ½ (5.17m) for sixth place.
Fourth-year junior
Erin Kinney finished fourth in the 60 meters with a time of 7.33 seconds. She clocked a season-best mark of 7.28 seconds in the preliminaries, finishing .04 off her school record time in the event from a year ago. Kinney ranks 25th in the nation with the time.
The Coyotes return to action Saturday at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
Husky Classic
SEATTLE, Wash.—South Dakota fourth-year junior
Abrielle Jirele posted a season-best time in the 3,000 meters Friday night at the Husky Classic held at Washington's Dempsey Indoor Track.
Jirele clocked a time of 9:41.23 for 70th in the competitive field. The time ranks fourth in the Summit League this season.
She joins teammates
Ella Byers and
Madison Brouwer in action at day two of the Husky Classic tomorrow.
SDSU Classic
BROOKINGS, S.D.—South Dakota fifth-year senior
Meredith Clark won the shot put at the SDSU Classic Friday inside the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
Clark launched a winning throw of 52-1 (15.87m), a new personal best in the shot put. She ranks second in USD indoor history for the women's shot put. Sophomore
Kinsley Ragland took fourth with a throw of 46-0 ¾ (14.04m) and fifth-year senior
Riley Griffith was ninth.
Junior
Kenzie Campbell finished runner-up in the weight throw with a new personal best mark of 64-2 ½ (19.01m). Campbell ranks fifth in USD program history. Clark added to her shot put win with a third-place finish in the weight throw, recording a mark of 58-5 ¼ (17.81m). Griffith was seventh and Ragland was ninth overall.
Redshirt-sophomore
Tristan Gray placed fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 58-5 ¾ (17.82m). Sophomore
Quincy Warren is seventh in the field.
Gray also finished seventh in the shot put with freshman teammate

Sophomore
Carson Lauterbach took ninth in the men's 3,000 meters in 8:31.91. The time is two seconds off the Coyote Top 10 list for the event. Fourth-year junior
Abbie Schmidt and freshman
Alexis Pagel were seventh and ninth, respectively, in the women's 3,000 meters.
