PREVIEW: Coyotes head to Lincoln for Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational

LINCOLN, Neb. – South Dakota track and field is headed to Lincoln Friday for the 50th annual Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln.
 
MEET INFORMATION
Action Friday and Saturday begins with combined events, USD will not have competitors in those events. The first Coyotes to compete in this weekend's meet are the women's pole vaulters at 11 a.m. Friday. Individual track events begin with the 5,000-meters at 2 p.m. with action estimated to wrap up by 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Saturday, the Coyotes will have their first events be at 11 a.m. with the men's high jump and men's 200-meters. Action should conclude by approximately 3 p.m. Saturday.
 
HOW TO FOLLOW ALONG
Live results of the meet is being provided by Prime Time Timing. Nebraska will also have live streams available on its website, Huskers.com.
 
SUMMIT LEAGUE PEAK PERFORMER
Marleen Mülla earned her second Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer honor of the season this week after a stellar showing at the Dr. Rich McGuire Invite at Missouri last weekend. Mülla cleared 14-11 (4.55m) in the pole vault, tying her school record and moving into third in the NCAA this season.
 
Mülla's honor is the third for a Coyote this season. The full list of Coyote honorees this season by week:

NATIONAL RANKINGS
The second national, regional, and position group rankings of the season were released Tuesday, with the South Dakota women ranking climbing 16 spots to 39th in the second national ranking of the season. The Coyote men climbed into the top 100 at No. 76. USD's women are the top ranked Summit League school in the national rankings and the men are the second ranked conference school.
 
The Coyote men are up one spot in the Midwest rankings, climbing one spot and are now the top Summit League school in the region. The Coyote women are also up one spot in the region, now 12th.
 
In the event squad rankings, South Dakota's both South Dakota's men and women have two event groups inside the Top 25 in the NCAA, highlighted by the pole vault squads who are 3rd (women) and 7th (men) respectively.
 
South Dakota men's pole vault ranks seventh in the NCAA so far this season. The Coyote men's shot put squad ranks 11th in the NCAA. USD's women's pole vault squad is 3rd in the NCAA this season. The triple jumpers are 15th.
