LINCOLN, Neb. – South Dakota track and field won two events and set five new program Indoor Top 10 marks Saturday at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational.
TOP PERFORMERS
•
Brandon Vander Sluis heaved a personal best 60-10 ½ in the shot put to place third. That distance is tops in the Summit League by over 19 inches. His mark is 26
th in the NCAA this spring.
•
Berkeley Engelland and
Calia Chaney ran blistering times of 2:08.12 and 2:08.96 in the women's 800-meters to place second and third. Those are the top two times in the Summit League this season.
•
Mason Sindelar ran a season's best 1:50.09 in the men's 800 to win the event. That time is third in the Summit League.
•
Landon Olson cleared the 7-0 mark for the first time this season in the high jump, clearing 7-1 to place second. That height is second in the Summit League. That 7-1 clearance is 21
st in the NCAA.
