South Dakota claims a pair of event wins at Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational

LINCOLN, Neb. – South Dakota track and field won two events and set five new program Indoor Top 10 marks Saturday at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational.

TOP PERFORMERS
• Brandon Vander Sluis heaved a personal best 60-10 ½ in the shot put to place third. That distance is tops in the Summit League by over 19 inches. His mark is 26th in the NCAA this spring.
• Berkeley Engelland and Calia Chaney ran blistering times of 2:08.12 and 2:08.96 in the women's 800-meters to place second and third. Those are the top two times in the Summit League this season.
• Mason Sindelar ran a season's best 1:50.09 in the men's 800 to win the event. That time is third in the Summit League.
• Landon Olson cleared the 7-0 mark for the first time this season in the high jump, clearing 7-1 to place second. That height is second in the Summit League. That 7-1 clearance is 21st in the NCAA.

South Dakota will split up next Friday and Saturday as Coyotes will compete at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. and the SDSU Classic in Brookings.
