AUSTIN, Texas–South Dakota junior
Madeline Huglen improved her own school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays inside Mike A. Myers Stadium on Thursday.
Huglen clocked 10 minutes, 35.48 seconds, to improve own school record by seven seconds. She finished in fourth place in a talented collegiate field. Her mark ranks seventh in the NCAA this season. Freshman
Jonna Bart took 11th in her first career steeplechase race. She clocked 11:10.88 for the fourth-best mark in school history.
With a huge kick down the final straight, junior
Eldon Warner finished runner-up in section "A" of the 1,500 meters. Warner passed three athletes in the final 100 meters as he clocked a personal best 3:49.46. He was the top collegiate in the race, taking second to Mexico's Jose Eduardo Silvestre. Warner's time is the third-fastest in USD program history.

Nate Wendt placed third in section "B" of the race. He clocked a five-second personal best of 3:53.92.

Megan Billington and senior
Erin Wetzstein recorded outdoor personal bests in the 5,000 meters. Nelson recorded an all-time personal best of 16:46.51 for seventh place. Billington clocked 16:58.97 for ninth. Nelson and Billington move to third and fifth, respectively, in USD record books. Wetzstein took 17th in 17:21.01. Nelson's mark ranks 13th in the nation this season.

Lindsay Joyce finished 11th in section "B" of the 1,500 meters with a clocking of 4:39.43.
Sophomore
Ethan Bray finished in a four-way tie for 11th place in the pole vault. He cleared 17-0 ¾ in the competition.
Senior
Brice Cowman clocked 14:58.20 for 19th place in the 5,000 meters. The time is an outdoor best for Cowman by less than a second.
Senior
Shanice Cannigan took 36th in a field of 77 for the 400-meter hurdles. She clocked 1:01.68 in her first race of the outdoor season.
