South Dakota to compete in pair of regional meets at Drake Relays, Mount Marty Twilight

South Dakota track and field is set to compete in a pair of regional meets this week, sending athletes to the Mount Marty Twilight in Yankton, S.D. Wednesday evening and to the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa Thursday through Saturday.
 
MEET INFO
The Mount Marty Twilight is scheduled to start with field events at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Track events get rolling at 4 p.m. in Yankton. All of the results can be found on Dakota Timing.
 
The Drake Relays get underway Wednesday, but the Coyotes won't hit the blue oval until Thursday. Action will run through Saturday. A majority of the weekend's action can be watched on Runnerspace.com with two-hours of coverage on CBS Sports Network Saturday afternoon. Live results will also be available here.

NATIONAL RANKINGS
In the third week of the USTFCCCA Outdoor Rankings, the Coyote women's pole vault squad ranks first in the nation with their top four vaulters all ranked inside the top 40 in the country. The men's pole vault squad ranks sixth after their fourth week of competition.
 
In other top events for the Coyotes, the women rank 18th in the steeplechase and 23rd in the 400-meter hurdles.
 
The South Dakota women jumped to No. 11 in the Midwest Rankings this week, becoming the top ranked Summit League team in the region. The Coyote men are No. 14 in the Midwest Rankings. In the conference rankings the Coyote men are third and the women are fourth at the fourth rating checkpoint of the season.
