PREVIEW: Coyotes to take on Nebraska, SDSU meets Friday

South Dakota track and field is sending athletes to two meets Friday, with a majority of athletes competing at the Nebraska Tune-Up in Lincoln, while a handful of runners will head to Brookings for the SDSU Last Chance.
 
MEET INFORMATION
The Nebraska Tune-Up starts at 12:25 p.m. with the hurdle races in the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The weight throw competition is the first field event, scheduled for 1:45 p.m.. The final event is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. Friday. Live results can be found on PrimeTime Timing. Live streams are provided on Huskers.com.
 
The SDSU Last Chance meet was a late addition to the USD schedule, and starts at 3:30 p.m. in field events and 4 p.m. on the track. Dakota Timing will provide live results. Live Streams will be available on the Summit League Network powered by Midco Sports Plus.
 
NATIONAL RANKINGS
South Dakota women's track and field has entered the Top 25, ranking 23rd in the latest national rankings. The Coyote men are 79th in the national rankings this week. The Coyote women are the top ranked Summit League team, and the Coyote men are the second ranked Summit League team in the national rankings.
 
Both the Coyote men and women rank inside the top 10 in the Midwest Region, with the men standing ninth and the women 10th in the latest regional rankings. Both squads are the lone Summit League squads to be in the top 10 in the region.
 
In the event squad rankings, South Dakota's both South Dakota has five event groups inside the Top 30 in the NCAA, highlighted by the pole vault squads who are 2nd (women) and 7th (men) respectively.
 
The Coyote men's shot put squad ranks 13th in the NCAA. The men's 60 hurdles are 30th in the country. USD's women's triple jumpers are 16th.
 
South Dakota is the top ranked Summit League school in five events: women's pole vault (2nd), men's pole vault (7th), women's triple jump (16th), women's 800m (46th).
 
NCAA LEADERS
The NCAA Indoor Championships will be held in Fayetteville, Arkansas on March 13-14. The Top 16 in every event qualify for the championships. Here are the Coyotes who are in the top 50 of their events in the NCAA so far this season.

SUMMIT LEAGUE PEAK PERFORMERS
For the second straight week and third in the last four, Anna Willis has earned Summit League Peak Performer honors. Her now school record 15-1 in the pole vault to win the Tyson Invitational is the top height in the Summit League and second in the NCAA.
 
South Dakota has earned seven weekly honors this season, three by Willis. The full list of Coyote honorees this season by week:
