NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. – Travel plans had to be changed as the SDSU Classic was canceled Friday due to heat, so the Coyotes instead ran at the Briar Cliff Invite Saturday morning, sweeping the individual and team titles.
 
The men's 8k was first up Saturday at Adams Nature Preserve, and Isaac Ochoa paced the pack and the Yotes, winning the individual title in 24:37.76, a personal best. Two additional Coyotes placed inside the top five, as Natnael Kifle took third in 25:08.01 and Piercze Marshall fourth in 25:16.46. Levi Hill took 10^th in 25:53.81 and Trevor Thomsen 11^th in 25:55.28. As a team USD scored 25 points, besting Creighton (39 points) for the top spot.

In the women's race, South Dakota took two of the top three and five of the top 10 in the 6k, led by Geneva Timmerman's personal best 21:15.85. Alexus Sindelar also ran a PR, taking third in 21:37.4. Coyotes three through five placed sixth through eighth overall as Jade Ecoffey (21:50.25), Taylor Byerley (21:52.4), and Calia Chaney (21:58.88) all placed inside the top 10. The Coyote women scored the exact same amount of points as the men, totaling 25 to beat out Creighton (42) for the top spot.
