South Dakota battles strong field at Griak Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – South Dakota cross country took on a strong field at the Roy Griak Invitational Friday morning, with Geneva Timmerman taking a top 25 finish on the women's side to highlight the morning.
 
Timmerman paced the Yotes for a second consecutive meet, running 22:42.0 in the 6k race to place 21st. Alexus Sindelar ran 23:17.7 for 44th and Drew Beason 23:42.6 for 64th. The Coyotes placed ninth at the meet as a team.

The Coyote men were led by Natnael Kifle, who ran 26:41.9 in the 8k to place 48th. Riley Ruhaak was the second Coyote across the line in 27:22.1 9 for 64th and Tommy Hensley third across in 27:52.9 for 83rd. South Dakota placed 10th as a team.
