Joe Mueting, a native of Norfolk, NE, was one of the outstanding men's basketball players in the history of Coyote Basketball. Mueting left USD second on the school's rebounding chart with 760 (8.84 per game). Mueting was named all-North Central Conference team three times (1973-74, 1974-75, 1975-76). A rugged 6'8 center, he appeared in 86 games, finishing with 1,272 points, which ranked him fourth on the USD career points chart.
