Yvette (Greer) Albrecht, a native of Sioux City, Iowa, ranks as one of the greatest sprinters/hurdlers in South Dakota women's track and field history. She was USD's first female track all-American earning the honor in 1982. Specializing in the sprints, hurdles, and long jump, Albrecht was a seven-time North Central Conference champion. A three-time NCAA Division II meet qualifies, Albrecht held 21 of USD indoor and outdoor school records. At the 1982 NCC indoor championships, she won the indoor 55-meter hurdle title (8.40), and was a member of the winning, 800-meter relay squad (1:43.81). She won two NCC outdoor 100-meter titles- 1979 (12.4) and 1981 (12.74). She also won three NCC outdoor titles in the 100-meter hurdles- 1979 (14.7), 1981 (15.0), and 1982 (14.54).
