Warren Schumacher was one of South Dakota's great all-time linebackers. A native of Eureka, SD, Schumacher was a two-time first team all-North Central Conference selection as a linebacker for the South Dakota football team in 1967 and 1968. Schumacher was also co-captain of the 1968 Coyote team, which posted a 9-1 record for the school's best finish since 1902. As a senior, he had three intereceptions and a pair of fumble recoveries during the 1968 season.
