Tom Engleman, a native of Scottsbluff, NE, ranks as one of the best all-time quarterbacks in South Dakota football history. He played quarterback for the Coyotes (1969-72) and led the team to the 1972 NCC title with a 9-1 overall record. A very good passer and runner on the option, Engleman established USD career records for yards passing (3,567) and yards total offense (4,097). He completed 213 of 563 passes with 24 touchdowns.
